I’m confused. Did you add the badge and license yourself? Or was that a factory promotion I’ve never seen ?

Neat package,
The guy I bought my 29-2 from stated he bought it right after seeing the movie and had only fired it once.

On a side note while your speed loader cut stocks make using speed loader easier don't think those came out until a little into the 29-3 revision, period correct would be football cut checkered targets.

Oh dang. Thanks for pointing that out. I didn’t know

I, too, pick up his badge a few years ago. I didn’t get his Police identification though. Your package looks great. If you decide to get the other grips, you shouldn’t have a problem. If the other panel of your grips looks similar to the one showing, you could probably trade yours for the other ones without having to come up with too much more scratch.

There were some stocks of that 'modern' cut put on guns as early as 1978/79. If your gun dates to those, it is possible those could be original to the gun. If earlier than 1978, not correct for your gun.

As with many things, S&W used up stocks, frames, cylinders, etc..over years in transitions. I have one 'transitional' 27-2 with recessed cylinder but not pinned barrel. SN puts it in 1982-84...stamped as 27-2. Go figure!
