Hey tmoc, welcome to the forum and your could not have made a better choice for your first S&W Pistol. These 3rd Generation 4506's are built like tanks and accurate too boot.

Be forewarned though, if you're anything like the rest of us, it probably won't be your last 3rd Gen pistol. At least it wasn't for me after I bought my first one, a 4506-1.
