my 66 3'' gun show find

I think I fell under a lucky star today at a gun show here in Ohio. I found this un-fired model 66-2 3'' for $575.00 box, tools paperwork. The seller had so many great smith's I almost lost my mind. please let me know how you think I did.

Maybe you should play the lottery today, you did great. 2 1/2" are getting scarce let alone the 3", if you put that on gb you could double your money maybe tripple.

That is a gun that I have on my wish list, and I'm not selling it when I find it.

The price was quite good, in realistic terms. For you, not the seller.

But some ask more than they'll likely get for those.

his pricing was wild but firm would not budge. also had a 650 and a 617 both no dash with boxes 650.00 each I know I should have bought them all but I picked a good one.


i think the 66 will sit in the safe for a while

holo, even though I'm not currently in the market for any
guns I would have jumped on that one, with both feet!!

My 2 favorite guns are my M66-2 (2.5") and M686+ (3")
so your new acquisition would be right up my alley......

don't know for sure but my guess would be yes, all of his stuff was mint and came with everything from the factory even the inspection sticker were still on the guns.

How the heck do some of you guys find this stuff!

I guess my area is pretty limited for gun shows, and our local shops (very few in number) never get this stuff behind the glass.

And Gunbroker prices are impossibly high, or questionable condition....

I feel sick! I just gave my 66-4 3" to my daughter and have been looking for a replacement. Yesterday an auction ended on GunBroker for a 66-3 at $1,025.

Great find/purchase. Paid almost that much recently for a model 65-5 3" used (great shape) off of GB. Like Wheelyfun66 stated we both live in a very friendly firearms state (Vt) BUT very few local dealers and even fewer gunshows, and even fewer great gun deals.
