Have several S&W revolvers and love them. In November I bought a 686 4" which must have been built on a Monday. First trip to the range and it wouldn't cock single action. Double action, the trigger wouldn't reset. On one occasion I got it to cock single action and as I raised it to the target it fired. Well, I realize that gun sometimes need to be broken in, so I continued to fight through all the issues and after about 80 rounds it started acting as it should. But, I felt I couldn't trust it so called and they asked me to return it. I has been gone for 9 weeks and is finally on the way back. They said they replaced the ejector and repaired the frame. Not sure what that means but am anxious to get it back.

I spoke too soon about being on the way back. It has been in shipping for 2 weeks. Rep says "well, it's moving" whatever that meant.

Have faith, I'm sure it will come back perfect. I had my 586 re-barreled by Smith and it was a good experience, the gunsmith doing the job called me from the shop while he was working on it to explain something about removing the old barrel.
