My bolt carrier broke!

Well. darn it, was at the range really enjoying my rifle, was shooting my usual Remmington 150 grain core lockt ammo, flawless shooting 1 inch groups at a 100 yards with ease, enjoying the Volocity trigger and it's very clean break. Had a couple of FTE's thought that is very unusual this rifle has been perfect so far. Shot about 10 more rounds, that made 40, good day. Got home took the rifle apart to clean it , upon reassembly I notice the bolt carrier looked funny, check out the picture, the bolt carrier is broke missing a piece, did not find the piece, but I think that piece caused the FTE's can see some marks on my trigger group. I really love this rifle, wish this did not happen, e-mailed S&W they are sending me a shipping lable.

I've never seen that happen before. That's got to be one of those one-in-a-million types of failures. Sounds like S&W are going to make it right.

they were very professional on the phone, sent me a label in 10 min. said that they would get it back to me asap.

Normal wear have the same and no issues ...how many rounds at this point

I'm sorry, but I'm missing something. What's missing? Everything looks OK to me. Are you talking about the bevel on the bottom?

It is not a bevel, the bolt carrier is more square, the chunk broke off while I was shooting, caused some FTF's , took the mag out cycled the action each FTF ,(3 of them) then the rifle started shooting normally for another 10 rounds. Did not find the piece, if you look closely you can see the break goes almost to the bolt, and is off kilter some, not a bevel. Total rounds about 200.

Yea! just got an email from S&W, the M&P 10 is repaired, shipped out this afternoon on Fed Ex, this is first class service on warranty repair, two week turn around, thanks S&W.
