These are Shiloh 45-70's. Top two fancy ones are to sell since I can't really afford all three. I invested in them 'cause their value increases a lot more than interest in the bank. The bottom one is a different story. My favorite rifle. Like it was made for mr, which it was actually. Anyone have a cool single shot? For shootin' or just looking at? Let's see!

I don't have any pictures handy, but I do have the following:

1 - Shiloh Long Range Express in .40-70 SBN 2 1/4"

2 - Springfield Model 1888 trapdoor with ramrod bayonet from 1892

3 - Remington Rolling Block in .43 Spanish with someone's conversion to an underlever action

I once owned the real deal! It was a whitneyville armory. Looked like a huge remington rolling block. It was .50 caliber, probley 50-70 or longer. Thing weighed about 11 or 12 pounds. It was well worn. It had a heavy octogon barrel. The barrel had many slots, some filled on top. I traded a new model 94 winchester for it about 35 to 40 years ago. I took it to the big pomona great western show and sold it. I belive the owner of the old exclusive pony express gun shop bought it. He said some old frontiersman must of had it many years and moved the sights back and forth as his eyesight changed, explaining the many slots.

Remington Rolling Block .357 Magnum

Lotsa varmints.

I don't have a picture, but I have a Sharps Borchardt in .40-70 Sharps Straight. It was shipped to a dealer in San Francisco in 1879. I got it more than a few years ago for $175.00. I think I paid too much for it.

I once also owned a old springfield carbine and a 1862 sharps carbine that had the modification to 50-70.

Iggy, is the >357 modern or an old Rolling Block that has been redone?

The idea of one like that in .45 Colt intrigues me to no end.....

It's an old timer I picked up at a gun show.

Novotny (Prag) .50cal centerfire underlever singleshot hammer gun. Pre 1892 mfg. Currently working on it, needs the hammer spindle repaired as well as some minor stock repairs/refinish/rechecker, a new horn or ebony carved trigger guard tang extension (currently a crude painted stand-in is screwed into place, etc. The metal looks original. The action is case hardened and the colors purposely removed to a 'coin' finish. The hammer (original) is just placed in position for the pic. The mainspring and fireing pin seen lying below the rifle.

Swamped barrel, double set triggers, sliding wood cover 'patch' box (press the center of the flower to unlatch it and slide it to the rear to open), swinging underlever action. Bore is perfect. The cartridge appears to be very similar to our 50-70 but I need to do a chamber cast.

Large trigger guard for gloved hand use I assume. A style generally thought of as a stalking rifle.
Hope to get it up and running this summer. Should be fun to shoot.

Everybody needs at least one! Some of us need several... A Shiloh "Hartford" .50-70; a Shiloh/C. Sharps .45-70 Saddle Rifle; a Shiloh #1 Sporter in .45-70; and a Dakota Arms Model 10 in 7x57mm.

I guess these qualify as single shots, too.

I got these 12-15 years back and never shot em yet. I have twin Shiloh #1's - one was to be mine and one was to be dads- dad could not follow through so I got both.

I need to sell one too but they are so nice to look at...

Here is a photo of my Hepburns. The top three I use in BPCR competition. I also have four Highwalls and three Stevens 44 1/2's.

Be still my heart.

I have wanted a Hepburn for more years than I can remember.
