Went out today with my FS m&p 40 converted with a 9 mm barrel and mags. First thing is it ran perfectly in 9 mm, very accurate and felt good. I can see why this option is a good one if 40 cal are not present on the shelf.
However, I let the barrel cool, and put the 40 cal barrel back and ran a few mags in the original caliber. So I basically shot the same exact gun in two calibers within ten minutes of each other. I know I may get flamed for this but, I really don't feel much difference in the two. Def. not enough to warrant converting over to 9 mm unless I absolutely must.
In my area 40 is more available and while a little more expensive, I kinda see that as a cost of the hobby. Yeah the 40 had a little more snap to it, but it's a gun.....they kick a little.
I'm glad I didn't spend a bunch of money on an aftermarket barrel, because honesty I don't think I will be converting it much in the future. To each his own.
