I can remember my Dad having this belt buckle in the 70's. At some point he gave it to me. It's been sitting in my safe for years. My Dad passed away June of this year. I guess I've been nostalgic about the things he gave me. Anyone know anything about it? To me it's priceless, along with the S&W revolvers he gave me.

Your Dad's buckle is an aftermarket issue by "UB" - a maker I have not yet identified, perhaps from an overseas far east factory ( Taiwan ? ) It is not a factory authorized buckle. Many of these were sold at gunshows & Ebay type auctions, 40 yrs. ago, but S&W's Licensing Dep't did not authorize them. Regardless, it's still a nice family heirloom to remember your Dad and his gift to you. Enjoy! Ed.

Thank you very much opoefc. It's sentimental value to me can't be measured. I saw some threads on here about S&W belt buckles and thought I would ask. I remember him having it around 1975 or so. Have no idea where he got it.

Thanks again.

I have one that looks exactly like that except on the back it says C (copyright symbol) "1979 Smith & Wesson" then "S&W Logo" below that.
