Welcome to the forum. Now how are you going to top that for a next post. What a great find.

i paid $430 out the door for it.
it has a cylinder gap of .004 and barely detectable endshake.
(i learned how to check for that on this forum!)

i wonder where i could find a cleaning rod and perhaps a manual for this?

You set the bar high for your next S&W. They are like potato chips, you have to have more than one.
Butch

i had a 686 with the same length bbl. and liked it a lot.
but according to what i have read and how this one feels in the hand.
i think i just aquired an expensive new hobby!

Nice looking pistol. Too bad you cant still buy that type of craftsmanship. Congrats on a great find.

Very nice. Model 27's are a special favorite and nickel too. Thanks for the excellent photography also!
regards,
Ralph

Hi Bill, glad to see you found your way over here from the other forum. Nice to see you here, and that 27, also.

I swear you told me it was $420 earlier...

unclebill: Very nice 27-2 for a super price. Good for you. I'm dealing on an excellent condition blued P/R, 27-2, 6", in a presentation box, priced at $649 shipped to my door and I figure that's a good price. You did good with yours.

there is another man who always posts great photos of his revolvers here and elsewhere.
i looked at how he composed his photos and tried to do it the same way.
(i cant remember his name)
this is a cheapo little camera but it works fine!

At the price you got this one, you're doing better then 99% of the mutual funds out there. I tell the Mrs. it's an investment vehicle. So far she's buying it.

What you need to do now is get the M27 with a 3 1/2", 4", 5" and 6" barrels in nickel. Put them side to side in a display case. Then you can do the same with the blue ones. Just trying to help.

I'd have to go smoke a cigarette after a deal like that! Great snag!

this is without a doubt the nicest revolver i own. (i only have seven)
and i cant think of one that i have fired that i like more.
no wonder you guys are so enamored of these things!

You're hooked now, there's no turning back, you will work longer hours, the wife and kids will go hungry, you will give up other non-essentual hobbies (fishing, golf, etc.)and you will lose sleep thinking about the next S&W fix, welcome.
By the way, nice gun,
