My first 65 !

You did good

A fixed sight K frame is a fine gun. It will handle a plethora of ammunition to fit a variety of situations. It fits most any hands by simply swapping stocks, and most situations by selecting the proper holster. Properly cared for, it will easily last 100 years.

I have seven in various forms.

In case you were wondering, your 65 would look a lot like this with Grashorn stag stocks.

The M65 is just a Model 10 dressed up in shiny clothes and chambered to a longer round (hey, just like the 10-6). You cannot go wrong with any of these variations of the M10. "Everything you need, nothing more."

Sometimes I tend to one of those fixedsighted K-frames but as being just over 50 years old I have some difficulties to clearly see the front sight.

But I like the appearance of the fixedsighted sixguns.

Are you sure it's not a 65-2. The 65-3s eliminated the pinned barrel and the recessed cylinders. I'd love to have a pinned and recessed 65!
I noticed that too; OP's is definitely pinned, and from the looks of headspace, recessed, too. Could be a -2, or an early -3 transitional. Nice find, either way.
