Like several others I never felt the "need" for an L-frame. At least not in 357 Magnum. Then a few months ago, I finally broke down and got one from my LGS a 686-6 that had all the "bad" stuff. MIM parts, frame mounted firing pin, rubber grips, and worst of all..."the lock"
It turned out to be a pretty decent gun. I changed out the rubber grips for a set of Altamont Ropers I'd had for a couple of years, and came to realize that I'd been missing out of something all those years.
(I must admit the rubber grips were great for shooting...they were just ugly.)
