My first K-frame...

This Model 19-6 came up for sale locally, and at $400, I couldn't pass it up. I know the earlier dashes are more desired, but I really liked the 2.5" barrel and was pleasantly surprised by the finish and action.

If anyone can narrow down the date of birth for me, I'd be most grateful. The serial number is BNA82xx.

The plan is to set it up on some Barami Hip Grips and a Tyler T-grip (if I can find one that isn't $50 or more).

The 19-6 appears to begin production in 1988 and runs through 1993. This one may be later production. I had one at one time and let it get away. Don't let that happen. You will regret it.

Very nice find, and at a good price. I've got a 2 1/2" 19-5 and absolutely love it. Mine (as I'm sure yours is too) is a startlingly accurate piece.

If you want to find a Tyler for less than $50, just order one directly from them. $25 for brushed aluminum or flat/shiny black.

Is Tyler shipping in a reasonable amount of time? I ordered a #1 from them for my 38-2 a couple years ago and it took FOREVER. Not to mention the hassle of mailing them payment.

No idea how quickly they're shipping. I ordered a couple of them about a week ago. We'll see how long it takes.

But after messing around trying to find one at a reasonable cost (like < twice what they are new) and coming up empty I came to the realization that I'd spent a month doing that. That made my wait for a new one a month longer.

As a side note. While I was looking I saw a couple of them go on Ebay for $180 & $210!!!! The average price there looked to be > $50, and 100% of them were going for more than they do new.

Folks can be nuts. It's really not all that hard for me to wait a few weeks.

I have your gun's twin - with a BNT prefix that shipped in 1993. I found it for the right price several years ago and learned it was a wonderful shooter with a very smooth action. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.
