Picked this up today, a 1983 Marlin 336 in 30-30. Doesn't appear to have been used much, bought it from WV via Gunbroker. Hope to shoot it Sunday...

Got to love it. My first was a model 94 in 25-35, but it's long gone and you still have yours. I'm happy for you, but still miss that Winchester.;)

The Marlin 336 ... one of the finest lever actions ever made. You got a good one too, as the one's built before Remington bought them out in 2007 were better quality. I'm probably in the minority with this but I just enjoy shooting these with iron sights and no scopes.

Got my youngest son one two years ago for his first "very own" rifle. I borrowed it one weekend when he couldn't go hunting and decided I needed one too! The A-Bolt stays home when we go to the deer woods now.

My first one is a marlin 444s in 444 marlin. She can go thru a 3/8" thick boiler plate steel at 50 feet. They once adveristed it as doing that. This is my bear brush gun. I also own a marlin 336 in 35rem and a newly aquired henry lever action carbine that shoots 22 shorts, longs and long rifle bullets too. The craftsmanship and quality of the henry lever action is awesome. The cost of the henry is affordable too. The litte grandson has every action in the 22cal rifles to learn from when he starts shooting.

My son and wife are incharge of his CHET thats the savings fund for college and they told me i'm incharge of buying his toys.

My 336 made in 1975 has taken only had two boxes of ammo run through it but it's taken 26 whitetail deer, 2 wild hogs, several coyotes, one rattlesnake. It was my first centerfire rifle as a teenager and both my sons have taken deer with it.

I recently bought a Winchester Model 1892 Takedown model that was made in 1893. It has had a newer 25-20 barrel put on it and I love the balance that it has.

The wood is what attracted me. I adjusted to photo to show the grain better.
