Something about Smith & Wesson nickel guns I've wondered about. Hearing it from the horse's mouth about Colt. From a former employee of the Colt factory from mid 70's to early 80's. He told me Colt sent frames, slides and some revolvers to be nickel plated to hide blemishes. I wonder if the same holds true for S&W, anybody know??

No, although they did plate blued guns over the years to fill orders. A blemish will show through nickel plate, so Nickel guns weren't "seconds".
 
Man those a beautiful revolvers! Thanks for comments and I have not shot it yet, but everything seems to tight. I honestly don't think the little 36 has been shot much.
