I collect mostly N frame big caliber S&Ws but decided to dip my toes into the waters of the 32 Long variety of small frame revolvers. Many years ago I started out with breaktop 32s but the big 45s and 44 N frames won my heart. The world turns and now I have found a renewed interest in the .32L RP. I recently placed a "hail mary" bid on this old gun after watching it for a month on GB. I bid the opening level of $225 and forgot about it. No other bidders took a shot at it. The photos looked sad enough and it was located in a far away place named Liberty, MT. I have had good luck with western guns as the old timers took care of their shootin' irons. It is cleaning up nicely with "Mothers Mag on a nickel finish. It has not been refinished. It has a very smooth lockup in both SA and DA. Index is 100% with no cylinder play. Bore has some light scattered pitting and the serial number is 252308 caliber .32L. Next week to the range and will report on same.

My first I frame was almost identical to yours but with a 2” longer barrel. I may have had a little less nickel left too, b it was mine, and it got me started down the slippery slope. I really need to pull it out of the safe and give it an outing to the shooting club. ;)

I think collectors call that one the fifth variation. I had a blued one, very similar in the fourth variation. I can't recall why I decided to get rid of it but it was a favorite of women and those who don't like recoil because the 32 S&W Long does not have any. You will like shooting it!

I passed on a blue one just a few days ago, same price.

Is that what they usually go for? I would have bid but had other irons in the fire that day.

So, remember what I told you....this one just arrived as part of a Rock Island auction purchase... I planned on selling it until i saw how nice it is....I bought the lot because of another 32, a target model....that one will have its own thread once the letter arrives ...these just multiply
