Just picked up for 275 a model 59 from local shop...Was going to get the svd 40 but I just liked the way this one felt.

Yea all the parts have a gold or brass colored finish. And the slide seems to have some etching on it. I'm not sure on it's history sadly though.

The slide appears to have an "engine turned" finish, once extremely popular on high end rifle bolts and custom handguns and often referred to as "jeweling", it can be found on everything from fine watch lockwork to hot rod dash panels, as well as airplane instrument panels and revolver internals, very nice.
