While I was down in Texas, my life long friend let me shoot his Berret M82A1 50BMG. I got to send 4 rounds down range. It's accurate and powerful!!!

WOW is an understatement. It didn't kick that hard, more like a Body slam but in a good way!!!

I liked it a lot!!!

The most fun...

Shooting a 50 BMG has been described as the most fun you can have with your clothes on.....

I have shot a couple of them. The muzzleblast is what makes the biggest impression on you.

Saw a suppressed .50, a rebarrelled German anti-tank rifle, shot several years ago. Had a can on the end of the barrel that was about two feet long. It was quieter than a suppressed .308 semiauto that was shot on the same range that day.

I have a bolt 50BMG that we occasionally haul up to Iggy's place for a little long distance shooting. There just ain't nothin' quite like it! The picture below is me shooting and keith44spl observing. We were shooting at the small white spot just to the left of center of the long strip of white rock on the far side of the gulch. That was just at 1000 yds and was easy! I love the Barrett too but would hate to have to pay the cost of feeding it - heaven knows, the bolt gun is bad enough!

Those big 50s are awsome.

Rumor has it that WYO or his son dinged one at a solid 600 yards.
Thar just warn't no proof left that it was ever thar.

Here's my wife sending one down range with an Armalite. Shooting a 50 BMG requires style... notice the raised pinky.

Recently picked up a 50 bmg upper. I still need a scope for it. Can't wait to gt it out. Unfortunately 1000 yard ranges are few around here.

Wasn't me, it was my son. Prairie dog was sitting on his mound like a good prairie dog should. Son takes the shot, prairie dog and prairie dog mound both just disappeared. Who can say what really happened?

Poor prairie dog was just sitting there thinking about lunch and "kablooey" he and his home vaporized!

Don't own one (yet!?) but have shot them down at the MG shoot in Casper a few times. The recoil is nothing much but the muzzle blast is out of this world.

Fun!
