Any of you that are expecting to read about the 2nd known 28-1 will have to move on the next thread.....it's not that big of a jackpot. :D

I love a good HP...and found this one on the big auction site. 4" 5 screw with target stocks. The price was right, especially wearing non relieved target stocks.....and I didn't have a 4" 5 screw....what the heck, ship that sucker to Wisconsin!

Boy boy did I get a few surprises when she arrived!

Surprise #1....open box...nice vintage lawman type holster....didn't know that was coming.

Surprise #2...lets get those target stocks off there and find a good home for them....wait a second.....they have a serial number stamped inside.....boy that number looks familiar. Could it be? Why YES! These targets number to the gun. WOWZERS! Those stocks are right at home already!

She has some honest high edge wear and a dash of freckling on the side plate. Overall a great shooter grade HP with what I am guessing to be a LE history. Looks holstered more than shot.

Another "hole" filled.....the hunt continues. I love adding good guns and unexpected stories to the collection.

Now clean that holster up. Use a little Kiwi black leather coloring. Then polish it good. Appears to be a Bauer Bros which is a pretty nice holster.

What a great score Dan. I love when the surprises are positive. The LEO who carried that package back in the day knew what he was doing.

VERY nice find. I've always said if I could only have one revolver it'd be a S&W 28. Funny I don't have one right now, guess I need to start looking. LOL
