People in my retirement development often have signs on their lawns warning of security systems. I don’t have a security system other than myself. So I decided I needed a sign without paying someone to call the police after the house is broken into. I am a widower as of 06/2106. If I am not there, who cares but Max and Vi my cats. They will hide in their hiding place in the basement. If I am there, the perps are dead.

However, I decided I should have a security lawn sign to keep up with the neighbors. In the past I have made a few purchases from Grunt(dor)com. I recalled thT they sold a very unique security sign. I bought one. I will put it on the lawn soon. Here is a photo of it.

It is a fun sign, but I would suggest that you have a way of taking it down quickly if you ever get in a gun fight at home. That would probably not be a sign that would be ignored by police or a prosecuting state's attorney ( or whatever the local prosecutor is called in your jurisdiction).

I hate to tell you this Master Guns but the Corps has gone after people for using the official symbols on signs that are not authorized. We had a local Marine use such on campaign signs (letting folks know he was in fact a Marine) and he got a JAG letter. Just FYI - love the sign though.

Oh I don't know, I'd think a good defense attorney could make the argument that you gave the bad guys fair warning ;)

It just advertises you have guns....while amusing and cute (like the ones about protected by S&W signs), best to not advertise........

Someone else was making comments about how to get the most protection for their home - put up an ISIS flag, Rebel Battle Flag and similar outside your home - every LEO agency well have a team watching your house......... :D

I may have a problem with an ISIL sign or flag...

It WILL get all of the LEOs to watch, and therefore protect, your house though.

If a social situation gets to the defense lawyer stage, you have already lost! Megabucks!!

The US Marines; When something absolutely, positively, needs to be destroyed overnight!!

Best,

You don't have to say a word. A life-size plasticized cardboard cut-out like the above ought to do swell.

Yeah, and in one of those situations, if the police or prosecutor is making an issue of a sign in your front yard, you better have a defense lawyer - and they better be a good one.

That is very true.
This is the reason I have a USCCA policy because a over zealous anti 2A DA can ruin your life.
Even in my pro gun/no license needed to carry state.

“Your honor, if my client was here today for doing 85mph in a 50mph zone, you would have held him accountable for not following a sign. The dead suspect was given a fair warning by a posted sign in front of my client’s house. On top of that, my client feared he was going to be killed.”

Yeah, something like that is pretty much what I had in mind...

Thanks to everyone who had a cautionry warnings for me. I have to say that I fear not. Friends, I am 75 years old. I stopped being afraid to die at the Bay of Pigs when I was 18 years old. ThT was reinforced during the urban Missile crisis. I spent many days on an APA with a thousand other Marines ready to invade Cuba. It is weird getting used to the idea that you could die in a matter of hours, but you get used to it. By the time I did the first of my four tours in Nam I just assumed that I would eventuually die in combat. Well I am still here, and I do not fear death or worse.

My wife passed. My kids are adults with families and they jointly own all of what used to be my assets including my house thanks to a bright accountant friend of mine. When I die my social security and military retirement pay ends. I have nothing to lose but my life, and I have not feared that for over six decades.

The Corps is not going to come after me as some have suggested. They actually love the publicity, and they are not about to prosecute a 30 year career Master Gunnery Sergeant with 2 Purple Hearts ans two Bronze Strars and more battle ribbons that anyone who might head the prosecution.

As for the local authorities, bring them on. I might lose but they would understand the Marine battle philosophy that if we actually lose, the enemy will understand it was in the worst fight of its life and never want to be in that state again..

I am not going to shoot anyone on my front lawn. But if they come thtoigh the door uninvited or unpermitted they are in serious jeopardy. PA State Law is clear on when I can shoot the home invader, and it makes it clear that If the invader does not flee on command, I can send him to new destination.

Many know the slogan Semper Fi Do or Die. Marines are serious when they say that.
