I've owned this M34-1 1970 .22 for about 5yrs . It looked rough when I got it, rusty, would not eject empties, no grips....Owner threw in new package S&W magnas....I cleaned it up good as I could, finish reamed cyl..copper chore boy and oil on outside and today got my grip adapter from BK grips...that's what it needed!...Now these big old mitts get a better grip...carry it squirrel hunting...close as I'll get to the ideal kit gun

I got my 34-1 4" about 5 or 6 years ago. Like new in box, in box, with tools, papers, and original bill of sale for $500 OTD, at the time, only a fair deal. I never checked the grips for SN.

I too had to ream the cylinder. To me it is an ideal Kit Gun, but some prefer stainless.

I have a junk 4" RG about Identical to a 34. It is pot metal and a sleeved barrel, paid about $15 for it 30 years ago. The silly thing shoots better than my 34-1 but will never beat my 17-3. So, the RG is my knock about gun.

I like square butt, but otherwise looks good. I have a square nickel 2” I love. Dime size groups at 10 yards da, can hit a 1/2 size uspsa steel target at 60 yards with boring regularity my ideal kit gun would be a blue 2” square butt with 8 shot cylinder but that is not to be. I prefer blue, but the nickel came up and since I have not seen a square but blue 2” in about 10 years I bought it. Eats everything no tight chambers

Photo makes it look pretty fair. Nice job of sprucing it up! In the 2-inch version, I prefer the round-butt model, like your gun. My complaint is that I’ve never fired mine enough to get good with it. It’s a tough gun to shoot precisely, for me anyway. Minute-of-rabbit-head range is probably maximum somewhere between 10-15 yards. Probably closer to 10. :o I can do a bit better with my 4-inch version, but as Ivan said, not even close to a K22/Model 17. Still, they’re fun guns to shoot. ;)

M29since14, you're spot on...these little guns are hard to shoot! they're accurate but they give you every chance to muff the shot...lots of fun to shoot though...mostly a crippled squirrel dispatcher
