The G19 Gen 4 was my first handgun and that was because I could get it new with 3 mags for the $398 LEO price as a retired military guy. It is a great gun and my wife and I love shooting it. Since I knew nothing about handguns until I took my first shooting course, I wasn't prejudiced one way or the other. Like other posters, Glock didn't have a concealable single stack 9mm so I went with the Shield 9mm. I really like this gun but, as I've said in other posts, I am having a terrible time getting my groupings tight because of the trigger. Not having ever shot an M&P 9C with a reported trigger worse than the Shield, I have nothing to compare it to except the Glock. I got some good advice on how to get used to the Shield with dry fire, shooting at 3 yards until I get a good grouping, and then moving to 7 again and will continue to do that until I get as accurate as I am with the G19. For a CCW, it will suffice because I know I can reach out and do some damage in spite of my large grouping.
