S&W received a batch of stainless steel for the cylinders that wasn't properly heat treated, and as a result, cylinders might burst upon firing the gun. If you send it to them, they will magnaflux the cylinder to check it. If it is one of the faulty ones, they will not return it to you. Instead they will offer either cash, or a different gun. One with a lock BTW, and not the same type of gun that you sent them.
Well, I have a call into them and he is checking with the "serial number expert" said he will call me back. Hope it is not a recall one but if it is I am ready to negotiate. Calling in "The Negotiator"!!
