Hey! I've been lurking for a while, finally decided to join. Glad to see a nice community of 15-22 fans (well most of you guys are fans!).
I bought my 15-22 a couple days ago. This one came with a flash hider/suppressor. Serial starts with DTU, blue star on the back of the manual. Brought it home and lubed it real good with Rem Oil. I also lubed up the magazine.
Same day I took it out and had a blast with it! I shot around 200 rounds of Federal 550 and about 200 rounds of Winchester 333. In total I had 2 FTE and 1 FTF. I was expecting a lot more but 3 out of 400 isn't bad. Good immediate action practice! I did probably 4-5 rounds of rapid fire (the 2 FTE was during the RF) using the full 25 rounds. Two of those rounds were of mixed ammo. The 550, 333 and a few Federal Champion that I had remaining. No errors with the mixed rounds. I didn't have much problems even when I fed the rounds 3 or 4 at a time. I guess I got one of the "good" ones.
I cleaned it up just a few mins ago. I will definitely need to DIY a barrel wrench. The area behind the feed ramp and ejector gets really dirty. I cleaned it the best I could. Re-oiled with Rem Oil. I also installed a old NcStar 3x9 scope. Fits perfectly without a riser.
I also bought a box of Federal Lighting, Remington Thunderbolts, and CCI Stingers. Hopefully I'll get to try these in a few days. I'll report back when I do. If things go well I may try out the Remington Golden Bullets.... hahaha... Well, off to bed.
