My New 1972 Chiefs Special

Congrats on the new find.

I have my Dad's and it's in the original box as well with documents. He also wrote up how much he paid that day he purchased it which was in Feb 1971

$84.00 Revolver
$ 5.90 Ammo
$ 8.50 Holster
_____________
$98.40 sub-total
$ 3.00 taxe

_____________
$101.40 total

Amazing prices and high quality product.

Great find!! The Chief's Special is the baseline 5-shot revolver. All others are just spinoffs of this classic small wheel gun.

Love my Chief.

Be careful!

Thank you so much for all your kind words gents,

I'm always a little nervous at posting just to 'show off' a new addition but I've you chaps are anything like me, I just can't get enough of seeing beautiful old Smiths like this one, so I thought if anyone can appreciated it you guys would.

A silly idea but now I have a ANIB 1972 Chiefs Special, I'm thinking perhaps I should try and collecting similar examples for each year of the whole decade....:eek:

Cheerio,

Roy
Be careful sir! To like the Chief's Special can be addictive! This was my start............and still going!

4 3" guns are RB & SB 3" pencil barrels and RB & SB 3" heavy barrels! The bottom is a stamped 36 Target!

I have never been a super J frame shooter fan, but I love the looks. I like the target model

OP, beautiful piece! Enjoy

36-1 with the heavy barrel my first. Love the view from the top with the rough finish or whatever Smith calls it. Mine with square butt. Feels substantial in spite of being J frame.
