My new 627-5 and 617-1

I've always been a pre-lock guy and just picked up this 627-5 PC, while searching for a 686-4 plus with a 4" barrel. Spent a couple hours really cleaning it. I just bought a PC case from another fourm member, now I need to get a few moon clips and run some rounds threw it.

Just bought a 686 4" Plus yesterday and am in the CA waiting period. Love the 627 and may just go there some day - hmmm, tomorrow (?!) lol

I have a M627-6 V-Comp that is a blast, pun intended, to shoot. If your is anything like mine, you will be pleased. It is my second IL revolver, and I don't like the IL, but I am very pleased to have it. Let us know how it shoots. Congrats.

This was both my first Smith and my first revolver. Bought it to celebrate my promotion to sergeant while I was home on leave. It was the most expensive gun I ever purchased at the time but it definitely was worth it.

Even with the lock the 627-5s are great guns. You know you do not need moon clips to shoot that puppy, don't you?

I need moon clips to take more photos I personally hate using moon chips for shooting.

I had shied from the lock too.I have a 29-2 in 6.5" and a 6.5"629 Powermag. I was looking for a 4" 629 for carry. All I could find was a lock.

I will tell you the gun has grown on me. I really like the accuracy and in reality, the lock is noticed less and less.

Your gun is beautiful. I like it.

and when you tire of the lock...remove it,get the plug thats available here on the forum...and have at it...nice gun!

Very nice! That was my runner up as far as a full size 357 goes. I put a 686 Competitor on layaway instead. Would love to own both though! Love the 617 too. Enjoy!
