I'm 57 so my eyes are not getting any better. I can shoot this sight without any corrective lenses. Have 150 rounds through it without issue.

Nice, is it 4 or 8 MOA? What is your max distance? How is it in sun light?

I have had the Jones for one of these for my Ruger 44 carbine, for some time, but have worried that the J-Point might not hold up under repeated 44 mag recoil..

It's a 4 MOA. I was just shooting indoors at about 10 yards for the 150 rounds, so did not shoot long or in the sun yet.

Like the sight Can it fit non tapped Smiths with adj sights Thanks:confused:

My gun is tapped and I'd say it needs all three holes to mount, with Locktite. I opted for the JPoint because of the dedicated "N" frame mount.

They could! Getting LASIK was the best investment I ever made. 20/10 in both eyes. I never saw this good, even as a kid. Oh yeah, nice gun too.

BTW, I'm 57 also.

It's my close focusing ability that is suffering, I need cheaters to read. Distances beyond my outstretched arm I can see fine, I wonder if Lasik can help with that. I use very weak reading/safety glasses to see the front sight on my standard sighted guns. With the Red Dot or laser sights I don't need corrective glasses.

Any one mounted a JPoint on a K38 or a K22? Feedback? I also have the "old eyes" issue. Thx

I have a Docter Dot sight on several of my Model 14's. My eyes are shot and this red dot has helped improve my shooting tremendously. Yes, the gun doesn't look quite right with an optic mounted on top, but when you can shoot out the center of the bull at 25 yards, that doesn't seem as big of a deal any more.

Here's a couple of pictures of it mounted on a Model 14, using one of the Allchin STS mounts, that also fit the JPoint sight:

Well, the answer is yes and no. They can do a procedure called monovison where one eye is lasiked for distance and the other is set for close in vision. I had this done. The problem I have is that I was very right eye dominant because that was always my better eye. I had the right eye done for distance and the left done for up close. It didn't work so good for me. When I complained that my close up vision wasn't what I expected, she told me I should have had the procedures on the opposite eyes. Yikes, I wish she had told me that before. In an isosceles stance the front sight is perfectly clear. In a Weaver stance the front sight is just beginning to get fuzzy. For reading and such, I still have to use glasses. I'm still 10 miles ahead of where I was.

So the answer is yes they can do it, but the monovision did't work terribly well for me. I'm far far better than I was but not as far as I had wished. I call my right eye snipervision.

Just came across this thread. Wish I had seen it before getting the JP Enterprises mount for my Stealth 629. I had to also order a coversion plate to go with the mount and it is not as compact as the sight you have. Good score!!, nice looking rig. I am 65 and my eyes are not good for sight picture any longer. With the Burris Fastfire, the 44 mag has produced five shot group of 1.7" at 50 yds.
