I just got my new Ahrends grips for my square butt 686, and they fit and feel so good! I got the Retro Combat grips in the Cocobolo wood with the tung oil finish. I love 'em!
I'm going to the range tomorrow to try them out, but even just handling the gun is a pleasure.

Love them. They multiply. They even ask for new guns to be purchased for additional grips.

Nice grips! Really look sharp on that revolver. I use Ahrends on most of my S&W's. If the FG's don't fit you hans you can sand them down for a personal touch the reapply a couple of coats of poly and they will look brand new. Do that to all of mine.

I usually tell people to try Ahrends or Altamont. Altamont makes stocks for more than just S&W and that is the biggest nod that I give them. But most of their stocks have a very sterile exact laser cut feel to them. It's a funny complaint saying they are almost too precise but the bonded ivory magnas I bought for my M&P almost don't really match the look of the gun. But all of the Ahrends I have seen have a "look" to them like they could have been factory issued with every gun I have seen wearing them. That 686 is the older style fixed sight, forged trigger and hammer model, with the firing pin in the hammer. I'm not even sure Kim Ahrends was in business when that 686 was made and yet those look like they were made for that gun. Simply beautiful and highly functional. I call that perfection. The icing on the cake is the price tag he sells them at doesn't leave you feeling like you just got mugged. And they do multiply. I have two already and am planning for more. Great post.

I have several S&W's wearing Ahrends grips, including my 629-6 which came with ugly goodyears. They really do look "factory" on stainless guns in particular.

Also replaced the stock rubbers on this 5 inch model 60-18 with Ahrends retro-combat grips. Great product at a fair price, made in the United States of America.

I have the exact same grips on my two M686s, but with the standard finish. I love the look and they are comfortable to shoot with.

I have tried lots of grips on autos and revolvers. I recently bought a pair of Ahrends combat grips for my 619. I've always preferred square butt frames and grips, and had square coversions on my 619, but these Ahrends are the best fitting grips I have ever owned. They're my first grips with Ahrends and first round butt, and once I got accustomed to their look, I won't go back to anything else. I'm planning on more Ahrends in the future!

Great looking set.

Sure is a super way to dress up a stainless gun.
