I ordered at Ft. Huachuca PX and it finally came in. 4.2 inch barrel. The trigger is better than my older M&P 9mm but not as good as an APEX. I will send this to them after my Shield gets back from APEX.
The sight is a J Point I've had for a while just sitting in my desk and I'm pleased that the red dot is pretty aligned with the sights from the get go.

I am having trouble adjusting a burris fastfire 3 to my core 9mm. I was told to get e shim to raise the unit. does any one know where it is available? is the new ported m&p significantly better then the standerd core?

They both use the same slide (except for the porting) This was a problem with the non ported core as well. There are shims available (not sure where, I never had to do that on a Deltapoint). Or you can make your own.

Why would you raise the sight that is already too high to co-witness well???? The Fastfire II will co-witness so why not go with it?

The shims that were being discussed were not for raising the optic, they are tapered and are for when the optic in question runs out of adjustment before zero is reached. IMO an optic that needs this is not worth the time or money to monkey with it.
