Won this at auction, only bidder, pictures did NOT show it justice in ad but good for me. Came with factory labeled box, papers an sealed cleaning tools. Bought this to replace a 10-6 that was special to me but had it's own "had to sell" story and I am now happy to say, it is time to let that one's memory go down the river.

10-8
B
4
TR
Standard Checkered Hammer
Standard Vertical Serrated Trigger
NOT Pinned
NOT Recessed
Serial# 9D66xxx(Not what year)

Here's some pics form this morning, beautifully grained and finished grips with perfect checkering, perfect bluing(blotches in bluing are from cloudy sky and pine tree behind my camera lens angle), no real turn line through bluing(only shows up with camera flash really), no flame marks or carbon, no wear anywhere, like unfired. Enjoy all you current and future Model 10'ers!

Nice! It's amazing how prices on these have risen. I remember bidding on a NIB 10-6 about 5 years ago. Box and tools and everything. Gun sold for $475 and I remember thinking that was way too high! Wish I had bought it.

For some reason, a round butt on a 4" just looks "off" to me though. Prefer the square on 4" guns.

By the way, no .38 was ever recessed. Only .357 and .22. Pinned went away long before the 10-8 came around. I'm thinking 1982 or so?

Thanks for the info, I did not know about the .38/no recess thing. Why this forum is good! Yeah this one with its round butt was sparked by my addiction to Ruger Birdshead single actions that I have. 7 or 8 of them mostly 3.75" sheriff models. I will get another Sq butt, probably a 13 though. Had one of them in 4" and mint condition too that was on the same river boat as the 10-6. This one wasn't "cheap" either, ha!

Great looking revolver and great photos! What "style" are those grips? I have a RB Model 64 2" on the way and a set of those grips would be perfect for it.

Thanks Doublebit. These grips were only described as "Target" grips and the end label of box in the "Stocks" area has "TR" hand written in blue ink. They are quite wide and have much more material up front and on bottom for hanging on to.

10-8s came in right when the pin was being phased out, so there are examples with and without it.

Yes, they're factory original Target stocks; "TR" stands for target round-butt. They're great.

The RB 4" makes for a gun much more suitable for carry. I am pretty much done with carrying a revolver for serious purposes, except as a woods gun, but the RB makes them much more concealable since the barrel will be down your pants with an IWB holster anyway. This was a really good thing when agencies like NYC were married to revolvers - kept cops from having to spend more money to get an off duty gun.

This was my thought exactly when I saw it. For carry. Not edc, that is currently a Kimber SIS Pro, a Springfield TRP or my Les Baer SRP. The thing is when I actually got to see it, the condition made me think heirloom piece, graduation or wedding present or something. It's just too nice for me to mess up. So, I'll probably have a good friend of mine make a western style cross draw for it and if I decide to give it off some day, it'll come ready. The wife doesn't have a revolver so maybe she'll "get lucky".

I like your 10! It looks different, and that helps the cool factor! Everybody is used to seeing K/L frame square butt target grips. I have not seen that many round versions. I have round butt smooth banana target grips on my 36. Look great & feel good. What more can you ask for? Bob

Found a cell phone pic of the cylinder I had on my phone. Man, I don't know enough about revo's, but it looks like no one's ever even put a casing in here, ha! Just some good ol gun rug lint.
