Hi to all, I'm a new member and this is my M60 no dash, pinned barrel

Now that is THE classic Model 60 configuration (with the original walnut checkered magnas, or course). I'm sure those black rubber boot grips help with a proper grip, though. In my opinion, most everything else called a model 60 after that one just never measured up.

Congrats on a fine acquisition!
 
I know that there are conflicting opinions about it, but what do you think of the + p cartridges on the old no dash models?
Here in Italy we do not have + p cartridges on the market, the most powerful commercial ones that exist are the black mamba with 110 gr ball, but I don't know if be considered + p ammo
 
I'm sure the Model 60 no-dash can handle a +P round, but there are so many standard .38 Special defense rounds available (here in the USA), that I personally do not see the need to go +P.

Can anyone tell me if these marks in the cilinder are due to normal use or if they are due to improper use? I bought this gun used at a good price and I would like to understand if I made a good purchase ... thanks

two-bit cowboy, I was posting in response to a picture showing a tiny pin at the bottom of the frame opening, under the barrel end of the frame, and covered when the yoke is closed. Not about a pinned barrel. But now that picture and post seem to be gone.

Could be considered "normal" if it is just from fast cycling of the cylinder in double action, just make sure the cylinder stop comes all the way up into the cylinder with the trigger all the way back.


I usually gently tap the metal back into position with a small brass hammer or even a stainless spoon will work, just be gentle.
