I picked up this 2.5" Model 19-4 today from Bud's. One cylinder is slightly looser than the rest but overall lockup is excellent. The trigger is amazing, you just don't get the same trigger on modern S&W's. The bluing is in pretty good shape except for on a couple edges. I went to the store with the intention of purchasing a 2.5" 686 that I had seen earlier but this blued Model 19 just shouted out to me. I find it to be quite a handsome revolver. I'm looking for some nice boot grips for it now (and am open to suggestions).

Nice find!! You don't usually come across too many of those sitting on a shelf.

78K puts it at 1980

+1 on Craig Spegal Boot Grips. I have a pair on my Model 13 and they are perfect for me.

Gnome, great find! I agree with the Spegels, for a boot grip. I recently purchased a M65-5 and was searching the forum for previous pics. Forum member clang444 had a 3" M65 picture posted with a pair of boot grips he made from a damaged set of S&W combat grips. I emailed him to get the whole story. They looked really good on his gun and would great on your blued gun as well. Too bad S&W combat grip prices sky-rocketed with everything else.

My 19-4 with Spegels. I went back to some combats I had but they'd be perfect on a 2.5"!
