Just picked up my new Performance Center M&P Shield 9mm. As with any new gun I buy, I took it home and cleaned it and now ready to hit the range with it tomorrow.

My EDC was an Xds 45 but not anymore, the shield 9mm is going to be my new EDC.

I am now shopping around for a good IWB Holster, what do you guys recommend? Is the performance center shield any different from the standard shield (in terms of fitting in a holster). I currently own an aliengear holster for my xds so to start I am going to get a shield shell. But I am not completely sold on this holster.

Should I put a crimson trace on my shield? And if so should I go green or red?

Here is a few pics. I will report back tomorrow with a range report.

The green light laser is the way to go .. visibility is so much better with it in day light .. I have a Viridian CL5 on my PX-4 Sub Compact and the greens can be seen where the red seems to disappear in bright sunlight .. How do you like the Green/Red sights on it now ??

I like the green and red sights better then white dot sights but I would prefer night sights over all others. Maybe I will change out sights for night sights down the road. But as for now I will keep the stock sights.

I've got factory night sights on my 40c and the Sig P238 I just got after the first of the year .. I do like them ..

But then for my night time self defense the pistol next to the bed has the Viridian Green CL5 laser on it .. that's the one with the light and I have it set on laser/strobe to disorient anyone I turn it on shining it in their eyes ..

I've been thinking of going to the red or orange front sights .. My eye are getting old I'm 66 and have played a round with a couple on pistols at the range but that is during the day and not playing with them in the dark ..

I dont go for the laser idea you wont have time to use it ,I like night sights and would have a set ready for when the fiber tubes brake and call it a day. I may trade my shield for that same new one .

The PC shield is the same as a regular shield measurement wise so any shield holster will work but of course you will need to decide on a laser before you decide on a holster.

I picked up a PC Shield for my wife, but can't tell much difference over the regular Shield. Except that the barrel gets dry quickly it REALLY gets dirty! Have Talon grips on the regular shield and thinking of TFX sights for it. Will keep the PC Shield stock for now.
Congrats on the PC!!! :D

Thanks, I was very curious about the porting making the gun dirty. Also, how bad is the muzzle flash, particularly in lower light? I think the PC version is kinda a gimmick personally. I'll keep my shield 9. Have apex duty carry kit, ameriglow pro dot night sights, talon grips. I don't see the PC version as a bonus in any way. Tell me about accuracy, noticed much difference between the two guns?

Muzzle flash was not a problem. There is a review on youtube were the reviewer shoots in near dark conditions and also says there is no problem. I was going from an xds 45 to shield 9mm so accuracy for me was improved between the 2. I never shot a standard shield so i am not sure how accuracy between the 2 compare. As for the trigger i love it. As for getting dirty yes the outside of barrel gets dirty from being ported but i dont see that as a problem. Fired 250 rounds today with no issues.
