Brings back some memories! Couple of friends had em. One was a 327 and other had a 283. Quite the trunks in those babies. Got a couple diecasts of my old 70 Challenger from Ertyl. Wish I had kept that one and restored it!!

Aw, man, you had me goin' there for a second or two till I clicked on the photos.

My grand dad had a salvage yard out in Kansas I got a running 62 409 car out of for $300.00 (no zeros are missing). It was pretty rough but ran. Blew it racing a 401 Javelin. Them old W motors wouldnt take a lot of rpm's.

Had another 62 with a fairly healthy stock looking small block. Ran the block numbers and it had originally been in one of less than 200 or so 65 Fuelie Corvettes. Obviously, the injectors were gone having been replaced by a 4 bbl. Than car ran GOOD.

A friend had one in 1973.

My memory of the thing centers on the buggy automatic transmission: twice a week he had to drain and replace the transmission fluid.

If he didn't, the thing wouldn't work.

I hated that car since it interfered with our activities regularly: twice a week.

Had a lot of firsts in the back seat of my buddy's '64! :D

Lowered, gloss black paint, chag carpet all around, 8 track, Glasspacks with Bellflower pipes... Just can't beat a '64.

My first car ever was a metallic blue 1959 Impala...complete with the large "fins" framing the trunk. I'm only 50 years old, so by "my first car" I'm referring to the first car I rode in as a toddler. Strangely, I still remember the cavernous back seat and rolling around on the hard vinyl seats when we took sharp turns. We didn't have car seats nor wear seat belts in those days.

Very nice.
My folks had one or two repros that looked similar to yours.
I know one was a Tucker but I can't recall the source.
Franklin Mint?

Nice that we're older and smarter where we can resist strapping a CO2 cartridge on and seeing where she goes...

Enjoyed the posts being a classic car nut. Reminds me to look for a 68 Charger R/T diecast like the one the thugs drove in the movie Bullitt.
