I haven't had one of these since 1989 so when I saw this at the local gun store I had to have it, eventually. lol
It was priced initially at $825 and I just couldn't do it.
About 3 weeks later I noticed the price was crossed out so I asked what the deal was. Salesman said it was a slow week, make an offer.
I said $700 out the door, he said to his co-worker "write it up."
So 3 weeks later I got my permit and here it is.
When I get to shoot it next week I'll let you know how she does.
Enjoy!

Serial number suggests a 1979 production year. I wonder if the stocks have a serial number that matches the revolver?

Great score!

I’ve been on the hunt for a 4” 65 for several years, I bought a 66 10 years ago but still looking for a bull barrel

Very nice score. Been awhile since I’ve seen one aside from someone’s guns that aren’t for sale. Congrats.

Nice score, OP! I bought a transitional Model 65-2 3" locally after a tip from a member of this forum. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

Everyone raves about the three inch...I love them too, because of the round butt. But to tell the truth, the four inch is just as easy to hide as a three incher because the K is an inside the waistband holster for me. Once you go holster, the longer barrel gets the nod. Just wish they had made a four inch round butt back in the day.

That one is a looker too! I have a 65-2 (not as pretty) and it is one of my favorites. It has everything that you need and nothing that you don't. Congrats on you find!
