I have several different revolvers and pistols that I rotate for CCW. This is my favorite revolver, a S&W 65-3.
Some few years back, I returned the revolver to S&W for a make over. Their custom shop replaced the 4 inch barrel with a 3 inch LadySmith. I had a trigger stop installed, and converted it to DAO, with new innards and factory bobbed hammer.
It is regulated to shoot the 145 grain Winchester Silvertip factory cartridge.
Grips are Hogue.

I believe that a3" S&W 65 is the perfect carry gun. I'll have one some day. Until then I carry second best. A 66 no dash 2.5. You've got a beauty.

Everything you need and nothing you dont! I might blacken that front sight.

Very nice! I also have a 3" 65-3 as my primary carry gun (see avatar). It's a great carry gun.

Once upon a time I only wanted 6" N-Frames. But now I see things differently. Your revolver is very good looking and highly portable. I like it. It would be ideal for cc/oc or of course walking around in the woods and fields. JMHO.

Gotta press you

VERY nice.. what is your preference for a carry holster?

I also am interested, I'm looking for a high quality OWB for my 65-3 3" and can't find a really nice one. I agree, it's the best, I love mine. I also have shot everything out of it by the 1000's of rounds never a problem.

Since you went out of your way to replace the barrel, did you ever consider a 2" barrel? You'd lose some velocity, but then you'd also have a pocket gun. To me that is a fair and equitable trade off. I'm very fond of my 2" Model 64 for pocket carry, so the ability to have something similar that can also fire .357 Magnum (simply for convenience, perceived ballistic advantage not terribly important) is appealing.

3" Heavy BBL K frame is optimum. I have a 65-5 3" I wish I would have thought to have the Ladysmith bbl put on. Nice touch.

The 145 Silvertip 357 is a great round for the 65. It would appear to me to be very gratifying to have the ideal SD revolver.

I have a Lobo Gunleather holster OWB for mine and a Sparks VM for IWB. The 65 is a frequent and trusted companion.

Next logical question: Would a 2" barrel from a 64 fit a 65? I'm thinking you'd have to mill off the rear end of the barrel to accommodate the longer cylinder and shorten the ejector rod. Other than that, I think it would work. I'm in the middle of such a project with a 2" 625 but the adjustable sight configuration is proving to be tricky. A 2" fixed sight 65 should eliminate some of that difficulty. If I had a 65 I'd be tempted to give it a try.

Very, very nice revolver, Mannlicher.
I have a 65 Lady Smith that I've bobbed the hammer that looks similar. I have a set of S&W Grips with a Tyler T Grip on mine. Comfortable to carry all day with the right holster.

A 3" M65-3 is also one of my most favorite revolvers. Small, easy to shoot, perfect swing and balance, effective . . . and very accurate.

Coke cans at 75 yards are always is serious trouble!!!

I have a 66-2 set up almost exactly like your 65.
Mine is a factory 3"
Factory DAO with Factory Bobbed Hammer
Also has Trigger Stop.
Mine has Ball Loc also. The Ball is not round on this one. It seems to be oblong, instead of BB Shaped.
Mine has chamfered chambers.
All it lacks is a Tritium Front Sight. The Dash 2 has a pinned on front sight, so this is doable also.
I carry mine in a Lobo Enhanced Pancake with Optional Inner Hammer Shield.
I carry 2 reloads in Safariland Comp II Speedloaders carried in Safariland CD-2 Carriers.

My next favorite would be my 442 Pro Moon Clip.
Carried in a Lobo Model 1 also with Inner Hammer Shield.
I carry 2 Moon Clipped Reloads in California Competition Works J Frame Moon Clip Carriers.

Next on the list would be my 310 Night Guard. Also carried in a Lobo Enhanced Pancake.
