Dear President Obama,
No one will disagree that something should be done to protect our children. I am 110% for that....but there is no law that is going to do that. It is going to take positive action within the school to stop criminals and mentally disabled people that commit such heinous crimes. Harden the target and use force to protect the children in the school. Plain clothes guards ....so no one really knows who they are ...and rotate them. They would be highly trained in dealing with urban situtations such as Navy seals are trained but modified for school defence. Ex seals would be a good start...they have the training and are competent with firearms.
Our second amendment is not about hunting...it is about the people haveing the ability to throw off the yoke of tyranny from a corrupt government. The second amendment is the only thing that protects the rest of the bill of rights. The Second amendment is our Liberty Teeth. "Not to be Infringed" means what it says.
I have owned firearms since I was 9 years old. I do have AR-15's and high capacity magazines. I do use them for hunting, target practice and home defence. As Americans we will never give up the God Given to be able to defend ourselves. Defending our children is on the top of the list for all liberty loving Americans and they need armed protection just like you and your family have. I do not begrudge you or your family the best protection you can have....My family deserves the same. I served in Vietnam and was willing to die to preserve this nation as many of our service men and women have. I will not give up the freedom these men died for and I will protect and defend the Constitution until my dying day. I have owned hundreds of guns...and none of them were violent. I have had to deal with a few violent people in my life time. I am a responsible gun owner and would never threaten another person with my firearms....and I have no sympathy for the criminal that does. The criminal does not care what laws you pass and never will. They can and will get the weapons they want. We do need to help the mentally damaged people in our society and even then we will not stop all criminals...but we can do a lot more to protect our children with solid action that will stop a criminal...gun free zones do not work as we all have seen....because criminals do not care. Do not penalize the people that have fought to keep this country free...we are not the criminals. passing more laws will not stop them...but certain actions will.
I have no intention of ever giving up any of my firearms or magazines and I will do what ever it takes to defend the Constitution that has kept this country free. When you try to pass bills that affect the law abiding folks that have fought for this country, you give us cause to wonder why you would try to penalize us for what some criminal does. That will not work. We are the best home land security this country will ever have...we are the minute men that can be depended on to defend this country from any agressor that thinks they could attack us from with in. We will never allow that to be infringed as the future freedom of all Americans depends on a well armed society. I grew up with guns...it is a way of life...just another tool we use. Guns are not violent so when you say gun violence....you lose me....criminal violence is the correct term. I have never owned a violent gun in my life. There are millions of responsible gun owners and we will not allow our freedom to be infringed. "Not to be Infringed" is simple to understand...it does not require a federal Judge to tell us what it means.
Protect our children with real action ...just as you and your family are protected...we respect that. We do not respect passing any law that infringes on our liberty teeth and does nothing to stop a criminal. Any law that Infringes on our second amendment is unconstitutional and not a law. Trying to take our freedom will lead down a road that none of us want to go down...but we will not give up our freedom or settle for trampling the Constitution. I respect the Office and I hope you respect the Oath you took to Protect and Defend the Constitution because infringing on our Second amendment is not going to fly.
