Yes. Very weird. It won't let me posted any pictures. I've had no problems in the past. Odd.

PJ kydex holster and Desantis Super fly pocket holster

Any idea what the cost is to have a set of the night sights replaced? I have a 4506 and after about 10 years they go dark.. is there a trick to recharge them or or any way to get them working again? George

Don't believe that the lamps can be replaced. 10 years is the length of night sight useful life. It would be cheaper to buy a set.

Thank you for the reply! they were sure nice while they worked! Hoever they are on a engraved safe queen.. I know I know... No flack please. only safe queen i have so far. It's a NSP 50th new in box unfired. Wife worked for them for 33 years and collects some stuff. Ya she won't let me fire the gun. Got it in 97 or 98.. Am i a good guy or am I a good guy? Didn't sneak it out once.... George

George9,
Check with the manufacturer about "relamping." I have a set of IWI (Innovative Weaponry Incorporated AKA PT Night Sights) and when they wen dead after about 12 years the put new Tritium lamps in for about $20! Not sure if all manufacturers offer relamping buy it never hurts to ask. I was thrilled with the cost and service with IWI. WAY cheaper than buying a new set of night sights!

Forsmithers,
Thanks ! That is good news.. The gun came from the Smith & Wesson factory. They did them up that year for the NH state Police 50th. I'll check the gun box for info and e mail Smith & Wesson. Maybe all I'll have to send in is the slide. Even a chance of getting them relamped is great news. Thanks again! George

George,

Another alternative if you want to relamp your old night sights.

ToolTechGunsight

Heard they do good work on reusing old sights and relamping them with new Trijicon vials. Wouldn't hurt to call them and get info and prices.

Good luck!

If they are the Lo Mount Novak style sights they may have come from Trijicon or Novak directly. I doubt Smith will do anything to help since they don't make the sights themselves. Check out the Trijicon website and see if they have warranty information or a customer service number to call and ask. When I got my IWI sights relamped I mailed the entire slide and they sent it back with the sights reinstalled.

Good luck!

My service Glock (no comments please!) grew dim and I contacted Trijicon and they relamped them for me. I just sent the slide only so no special shipping necessary. Quick turnaround and at the time (2 years ago) was $54 shipped back to me. Very happy!

Rotty 37: Got a winner of a thread here! Great subject matter that is timely and relevant. Photography is first rate! I was wondering what Trijicons looked like on the Shield.

Thanks for your efforts to upgrade a nice weapon and to share the results with us.
