My Walmart nightmare

There are really people who worry enough about buying ammo to participate in foolishness like this?

Really?

Three words for ya' : Learn To Fish.

After a little investigation I found that the local Wally's (three of them) get trucks in every night but Sunday and Wednesday that usually have ammo on them. The ammo is put behind the counter, not the ammo cabinet, and starts to sell at 7:45 a.m. The same people are there every morning waiting for the ammo. They are mostly like me, older and retired. They buy three bricks of ammo in the $20.00 range and then at the next gun show you see them with a table full for $50.00 plus for the same ammo. Doing the math shows me they can make $3-4,000 tax free per gun show four times a year and more than that if they can get to the other two Wally's before they are sold out. That's not a bad retirement enhancement for working four weekends a year. I'd thought about doing it myself but I don't get up early enough and besides it resembles work, which I have sworn off of.

Same here. The earliest I get up now days is around 8:30 AM. I refuse to go early to buy ammo when I can always go by Academy and get what I want even if paying a little more for it. I just happened by a WM this morning since I needed med for my corn on my right foot--and I eventually gravitated to the ammo counter-no 22 to be seen-was told by the Lady that they had plenty but all the usual suspects came in and grabbed them. However, I saw some 9MM, 40-and 45 and other stuff still on the shelves-which have been there for almost a week. Looks like 22 and 357 are the most popular here in my area. Getting better? looks like it.

Mail order

Mail order is illegal now in several states.

Jan 15 2014 you must buy through a licensed seller and he must do a state required background check.

IF you buy too much ammo the state police can pay you a visit to see WHY you are buying SO much.

The amount defined as TOO much is NOT defined in the law.

This is the future of ammo sales in NY, In cali and other demo-crapified states...

The sporting good dept at my WalMart store is pretty good. It has been kind of sporadic for several months but for the last 3 weeks 9mm, .40, .45, .38 and .380 have been fairly regular and some .223 but I still haven't seen any .22lr.

Things are slowly comin' around.....emphasis on SLOWLY.

I'd hate to drive clear to Texas, but I haven't seen .38 Special in a Wal-Mart here for months.

Sounds like a good reason to join the NRA and donate to the ila. Vote the scoundrels out.

Best thing I found in Wal-Mart recently was some 2 3/4" 12 gage # 5 shot in a case of 250 for $60. I did not have any #5 shot and that is a great all round size suitable for almost anything.

The boxes of shotgun shells at Wm have an inch thick layer of dust on them. However, the cleanest part of their ammo shelves is where they have the popular rounds placed at.

Walmart, just a matter of time until employees caught on..

Others have suggested that if we, the buying public, would let the stuff stay on the shelves the price would decrease, the Employees would not be tempted to skim ammo off before it is put out for sale to the public or sell to their buddies or the highest bidder. Then there are those of us who have not found any affordable ammo in quite some time and jump at the chance when its made available. I just do not know the answer but do know that crooks were originally honest folks, we already have enough CROOKS!
