Mary was up most of the night at the hospital with her ailing mother. When she got home she was dog tired. I was watching Tombstone on the History channel. She sat down to watch with me. I insisted that she take a nap. She says "OK, but be sure to wake me up when the huckleberry part comes on".

Mary's a keeper...

Thank you sir. Mary & her Mom are going through a rough spell right now and we appreciate it very much.

relay my thoughts to Mary and Mom

My wife is a trooper and the best woman I ever met...losing her mom was hard on her, but she kept on when most wouldnt have

Wishing the best for Mary and her mom, always.

If I had a handle on all your respective ages, I might offer some offline advice or maybe thoughtful comment as to things to consider?

Believe me, a great many of us of a certain age, husbands and wives alike, have been and are "there" and dealing with all the issues. It's the hand those of us of a certain generation, upbringing and religious and moral outlook have been dealt.

Far as your lady being a keeper: Yup! Sure sounds like it! God bless her, and you!

FWIW, I've had that same opinion of Mama Smithfan for several decades now. Had our first date in Fall of 1960; married for about 43 years now.

We've raised kids, love and enjoy our grandkids, weathered boom times and busts, jobs and layoffs, and are doing the best we can with the aging, medical and other issues of very elderly parents, aunts and uncles, and those dear family friends similarly situated.

Just a traditional old Amurrican from the northern plains...

Smithfan,
Mary & I are both in our early 60's. Her mom is 91 and has advanced Alzheimers and dementia.

Thanks for all the kind thoughts.

I know where you are coming from. Lost my Dad to Alzheimers the day before Christmas 2004. I will keep you all in my prayers.

A rather popular demographic and set of circumstances around here Ron!
Best to your Wife and MIL. It ain't easy...

Prayers from Texas for your family. Parkinson's robbed my father much as Alzheimers does. May you find strength for the tasks ahead.
