Pics of my wifes' birthday/christmas present. She had the misfortune of being born on the 23rd-childhood trauma. The 28-2 with it is mine although I am sure she will be able to outshoot me with hers. Does anyone know anything about the larger grips by the 36? Look great on the gun but don't leave room to eject shells properly.

Nice snub, I have one just like it and set up just like it. T Grip adapter and factory diamond grips. The only difference is the flat latch. My gun is late 63 to early 64 with a large thumb latch. Yours is in nicer shape than my gun. Love to find another one just like it.

These are factory aftermarket target stocks that fit both round and square butt J frames.

Yes, those are factory targets for J frame. I have a set on my M34 & have used them on M36. I like them very much for shooting but as you note, the lack of clearance for extraction. I was just looking a Ahrend's site on another thread...
Ahrends Grips : Smith & Wesson Retro Grips
Or maybe look for used grips.

I would not alter those grips, they are very saleable as is. In fact, let me know if you want to sell them.

My 36,1969 vintage sports the same oversized grips and I dont find it to difficult to eject empty's.
