I need some help on some myrtle wood grips that i am making for my 1911 .what should i put on as a finish . On some woods i use oil (linspeed -or tung ) lacquerer or varnish . I have never finished myrtle and don't want to screw up the wood is beautiful. Any help will be appreciated.

Clear Danish Oil seems to work real well in these type of aplications. It soaks deep into the wood and does not mess with the color. I have used it on rifle stocks, handgun grips and knife handles. Watco is a good brand to get at your local hardware or home supply store.
