N DIAMOND TARGETS

I have noticed that N frame diamond target stocks made of Goncalvo Alves have become extremely hard to find. It wouldn't surprise me if they start hitting th price level of Cokes. I guess it makes sense since they were only offered for a short period of time.

When I decide I need a set for the K's or the N' s, I just sniff around on he day and it doesn't seem to take long. Might have to do some small work on them, but hey ?? Usually get them reasonable..

I have 1 set of diamond targets relieved, and one set of unrelieved diamond targets. I will never own cokes unless they come on a gun i buy. I played the wood game with trap shotguns Cost a fortune. 3000.00 for a stock blank, before somebody whittles on it.

I love pretty mind you, but I would be willing to bet that 99% of the fancy cokes out there are for show and do not fit the shooter's hand. Too bad we don't have grip makers that build to perfectly fir the shooter's hand. Fit is everything when shooting seriously, and so long as they fit, I do not care if they are made out of a fence post

Ain’t that the truth! I couldn’t find anything to fit my hands when I was competing so I used some timber supplied by S&W to whittle something that worked. Not sure what kind of target stocks these started as but they ended up as a pair that fit!

I think that Herrett's Stocks Inc. still makes grips customized to fit a hand size. There was some discussion here about them moving, or staying in business, so I am not sure what their status is now. I had friends who ordered from them in the past and were happy with the results and prices.

At the high end of the price range, Karl Nill Grips in Germany, has a US outlet online.

As far as whittling stocks down to your size, Mustang grips still show up online on ebay now and then, often for tless than $50. They are oversized for most people, but perfect for DIY customizing. People used to refer to them as "2x4s". I have a set somewhere in K-frame size, if I find them I will post a pic.

My 28 no dash wearing diamond targets that my Dad bought in the 60's. I really like them, but shoot with it wearing something else. Don't need any boo-boo's! Bob

I think the OP is correct that all manner of things Smith & Wesson are now seen as classics and in high demand - not only for beauty of design but also for functionality and longevity. Something akin to Colt single actions some decades ago (and ff), but even more durable...

These are K and not N-frame, but here you go... about 1/4 the asking price of a pair of GA Targets, good fit for someone who wears an XL glove, and made from American Walnut. Dirt wipes right off, and if you don't mind a little whittling, you can make them your perfect size...
