Uniform duty holsters today (at least in my neck of the woods) require at least a level 2 retention. I cannot find a level 2 retention holster for either a 4", 5" or 6" "N" frame revolver. If anyone knows of a holster maker manufacturing such a thing, I surely would like to know about it. There are still a few companies making duty holsters for "K" frame 4" revolvers and a few who once upon a time made the holsters for "N" frames but present day realities show me nothing. Help!

I recant my statement, I didn't realize how anal "level 2" was...good luck!

64 Security Holster

Its a start. There are a couple other old companies still around that made alot of California cop holsters. I need to dig through my "collection" and try and figure out who may still be around.

I was in the same boat you are. I carry a Smith model 627 4 inch and I had Stallion Leather build me one. The model is called a Throughbread Holster. It had the thumb snap and an additional strap over the trigger guard. Also check out Tex Shoemaker they make one as well. Good Luck

I have a Sourdough Pancake from Simply Rugged for my 4" 27. It has no retention strap. On the other hand, I'd bet that I could hang from my ankles and be shaken 'til my eyeballs popped out and that holster would still hang on to the gun, it's that secure. For my money, absolutely the best holster for the price (under $75).
