Can someone please help me....The other day I pulled one out of storage that hasnt been shot in awhile and noticed that the cylinder wasnt locking up after it was cocked.the cylinder would turn but not lock into position.to make a long story short.I narrowed it down to the cylinder lock.It wasnt popping up in full cock to lock the cylinder. After disassembling a half dozen times. Then putting back together,Im really confused. At first I thought it could have been some dirt or crud in the window or even a small metal edge underside the window.NO dice.I even tried an extra bolt I had. This wasnt a problem before or else I would have address it. Can some shed some light on this...thank you so much....

It alignes with the hole and will lock at first but after about the third or fourth chamber(manual cocking) it seems to move over just a hair and thats enough when it hangs up. shouldnt the little hook fit into the trigger snuggly when it drops down?...or no side play.there seems to be a gap on each side. when I took it apart I checked the trigger groove for a small burr. looks like a very small gap on both sides that wouls allow this to happen.

You might try disassembling the pistol, taking out the cylinder stop and manually checking the fit of the stop into each cylinder notch. This will also be a good excuse to detail strip, thoroughly clean and lightly lubricate the inside. It is hard to say by remote control but just off the top of my head I am thinking it is a "crud in the wrong place" issue rather than an actual timing issue, though I happily concede I could be wrong.

Sometimes the cyl. stop can go backward enough to hang up on the back of the stop window. If it does that, you can file a small amount off the end of the ball to create some clearance. That may or may not be what's happening in this case.

No, the trigger hook is not a snug fit into the cyl stop lock slot.

The cyl stop lock has a small spring in front of it to push it up after release by the trigger hook.

Usually a gun that sits doesn't break, its sticks because of dried oil or crud. With the side plate off I'd flush that area with BreakFree spray Power Blaster or something similar. If that doesn't fix it, I'd pull the spring out to inspect and replace if it's collapsed or seems weak.

You just have to manually push the lock up and down and observe where it's hanging up with magnification. Do the same with the trigger removed. Look for a rub mark in the bluing where the lock rubs the inside of the frame underneath the stop with gun laying on its left side. The answer is there, and you'll eventually see it.

Well what appeared to be the cylinder lock sometimes hanging up in the window.I got tired of dealing with it so I replaced the small spring and lock from another pistol. So I had 2 revolvers torn down. But after I swapped parts,it didnt do it any more.To be sure I cycled it many times.I examined the defective lock under a strong magnifying glass. Looked like the locking tab that goes up into the cylinder slot was bent just a hair,if that.... Anyway thanks to all who chimed in

Great find thanks for sharing. I had a similar problem the side plate screws were a little loose letting the trigger move left and right on the trigger stud making it hang up occasionally every so many cycles.
