Will this forum become "The American Outdoor Brands Forum" down the road?

I saw on MSN News where S&W is changing its name to American Outdoor Brands Corporation. Said the BOD has already approved of the new name.

To paraphrase Shakespeare: "A gun by any other name would shoot as straight." I suppose Horace and Dan are spinning in their graves.

Maybe they are changing the parent company name but Smith & Wesson will remain the same brand. I can't see them changing that. Too long of a history and the cost to change branding would be enormous. Maybe they will but I just don't see it.

The board of directors doesn't have the final say so. The name change will also have to be approved by the stockholders, and it hasn't reached that point yet.

But it'll be a sad day if it happens.

Could they have picked a more uninspiring name? "American Outdoor Brands" doesn't have anything going for it, might as well have been "Blah...Blah...Blah Corporation. The guns I own will always be Smith & Wessons.

I imagine the change will be to swhc and all of the various name brands that fall under that umbrella will remain the same.
