NASA Bodyguard form 1962!

I just picked up a really neat Smith and Wesson Bodyguard NASA marked for the early 60's! This is a pretty rare little gun form a great period in America's history, the race for the moon! It came form the collection of renowned S&W authority Tom Horwedel. I have also found a period correct Security badge that's almost as scarce as the gun itself. Thanks to Colt Forum member, Saintclair for his help with NASA history and information.

Typically, I don't get too excited about government agency marked guns. But this one...WOW! I love it! And, it's a Bodyguard, my all-time favorite J frame. Congratulations on a wonderful acquisition.

That holster is pretty rare also, especially in that condition. I was initially tempted to say it is a Lewis Police Special, but after staring at it, I cannot definitively say if it is a Lewis or the Bucheimer one that resembles the Lewis. Bucheimer certainly seemed to get more federal government contracts. Either way, nice find on the holster also. Where is Turnerriver when you really need him?

Dam is all I can say. You own a super special piece of American history right there. The condition of all 3 pieces are tip top. I would cherish that, and keep in a good Safe when not in use. Or you can store in my safe.....Just want to help.

Very nice piece, I like it! I sold a Bucheimer Sheriff holster just like that on the forum about 3 weeks ago.

Wow. That's truly special. I was 10 when S&W shipped that piece to NASA -- definitely a memorable and exciting time in the space race. I remember watching all the NASA launches on our first b&w tv.

Thats a very nice bodyguard. I love that variant and the Nasa connection from that era is out of this world. Tom H won't even know it's missing with the number of awesome J frames he owns.
