NC Race Fan here sayin' "Hi!"

Welcome from one more NC native. What kind of racing? When you say "NC race fan" most people would think NASCAR, but there more racing than go fast--turn left.

I used to be a NASCAR fan back in the days when the drivers were still good ol' boy redneck moonshine haulers as their second job. And Whooo-eee! North Wilkesboro Speedway is up and running again. I went to my first NASCAR race at that track, in 1967.

NASCAR or die... lol.. I mean... the mantra was "Win on Sunday, buy on Monday" back when a stock car was a stock car, right?

National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing is what the NASCAR acronym is, but I dare you go go buy what is on the track today at a dealership. They can put a shell on it to look like a Camry or Camaro or Mustang but that ain't what they're driving...

(Um... 'shine makin' and haulin' was their primary job... racin' was just a hobby...)

And yeah... I still want a Superbird...

Anyway... Jr's got North Wilkesboro back on the map and apparently NASCAR is going to run the All-Star race there next year... THAT should be fun! (Get your tickets now!!! lol...)

Welcome from Florida.
Back " in the day" was Big NASCAR fan especially The King. Even went by his shop way back as well as Socks and Martin. Both had a shop full of 426 hemi's waiting to run. Sadly NASCAR " aint what it used to be" as mentioned in another post.
Just went by North Wilkesboro last week, lots of memories.
