I need the frame and barrel shroud on my 325PD refinished. It has "flaked" badly even though it has had very little use. I would like to change the silver color to black. I was less than impressed with the response when I e-mailed S&W about my desires. Who would you recommend to do this job?

Robar or Magna-Port either one do this and have good reputations.

On titanium, and scandium, I wouldn't have anyone except S&W touch that. Not saying the other refinisher are clueless about this. But, you are working with exotic materials, and some chemicals just may not play well with the metal used in these firearms. No sense in taking a chance of turning it into a gernade, with a zero delay fuse.
I wouldn't worry about Robar finishes --- they will certainly know what's good to go and what's not. Robbie Barkman is an acquaintance, and I once asked him about applying his NP3 finish to aluminum, which he assured me was viable. I haven't kept track of his latest offerings, but he's probably got a high quality black-color finish, if that's what you want. You can find Robar's specs & price list on-line.
