Hey guys. I have an M&P 2.0 4.25” with a streamlight TLR7-A and an Trijicon RMR with a .350 height front sight. I bought a four brothers holster and it definitely has hot spots. I carry around 4:30 IWB and was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for a quality kydex or leather holster. I like a full sweat shield as well. I’ve been considering AIWB, I’ve tried it before and it was OK but as a larger guy (6’ 260lb) I find that the gun needs to sit higher but I need a pillow at the bottom to pull the gun in. I was looking at tier1 axis elite and the sweat shield seems to be mid only. Plus, I worry about not having the AIWB work for me, but that’s honestly where I’d like to carry as it would fit most of my lifestyle.

Hope you plan on using a hand held light first before drawing a handgun with a gunlight .

I'm an old man but have 37 years of concealed carryand learn to shoot with a handheld tac light so only property defense firearms have lights or light/green laser .

I've used one Hybrid holster brand for the last 19 years carried at 3:00
high on my side and carry ether a colt lw commander or m&p 4.25 40 but no gun light options so I'm not help . Good luck

A check for gun light holsters shows Falcoholsters that covers your gun light and optic - link below

I prefer Comp-Tac C-Clips to metal belt clips . One set I have has 19 years of use so far .

I use a handheld with my 1911’s but do not prefer it. My polymers all have weapons lights on them. The problem with weapon light combinations is that not all holster makers make specific gun and light combinations

Take a look at Urban Carry holsters. Think they’re out of Tennessee. They make great IWB and OWB holsters that may suit your needs. Excellent quality and fast shipping. Just ordered one for my Performance Center 9mm EZ.

If you look at the string I did in the Holster subform about working with Lobo for a particular need, you may find they can do what you need. That of course depends on your body and ideas.

Check out MTR Custom Leather's deluxe thoroughbred holster or their AIWB holster.

My SIL is a big guy like you, OP, and raves about his deluxe thoroughbred holster for his FN FNX40.

FWIW, he first tried a Kydex AIWB holster before buying the MTR holster after he found he wasn't built for comfortable AIWB carry.

+1 for MTR Custom Leather. I have several of their products and all are excellent quality, serving me well for years. Many options for optics, lasers, lights, sweat shields, etc., all molded to your specific pistol to ensure a good fit. I have no affiliation other than that of a satisfied customer. Call for advice and questions. Here's a link to their IWB line:

I have no business even responding to this, 'cause I don't even know what some of these terms mean! That said, IF "Kydex" means hard plastic of some sort, I've been using a Blackhawk "CQC" hoslter with a 1911 going on 25-30 years. It's "hard plastic". The inside is super smooth. Neither it nor the gun show any sort of wear whatsoever, and it's adjustable for pretty much any and everything---including the width of your belt!

I looked, and they don't show this model (an outside the belt holster) even being made anymore. (It shows a number (C1311) which may or may not be a model number.) They do show several IWB holsters which may or may not suit your needs, but if they do, I'm thinking Blackhawk's stuff can't be beat!

Blackhawk has moved away from trigger finger de-activated retention because too many people were putting holes in the ground, their legs, or their feet in induced-stress situations.

The older duty holsters went away first because they were restricted from being used at Federal Law Enforcement Training Center classes.

The new Blackhawk T-Series Compact is a much better holster than the Serpa CQC were. The retention is thumb activated, and it's a much more durable design.

I had an early M&P .45 (police trade-in) with a Nightstick TWM-850XL weapon light. It was impossible to find a nice model-specific holster to fit the pistol and light combo, so I ended up getting a Blackhawk Omnivore holster. I use the paddle attachment in a crossdraw position and it works great. A couple of years ago I traded in that .45 for a new M&P 10mm 2.0 (4.6"), and just swapped over the Nightstick light. I also added a Holosun 507C red dot optic (and C&H metal optics plate). The 10mm 2.0 fits into the Blackhawk Omnivore like a hand in a glove. The Omnivore may not be a pretty holster but it is rugged, and the Level 2 thumb release retention feature works great.

Not trying to be mean, but that height and weight is more of a threat to your long-term health than an attacker. I'm not saying get down to 190, but maybe even 230 would be a realistic goal.

I'm saying this as someone who has to work on this myself. I'm 6' 2" 225 and need to get back down to around 195. Health is wealth, and it will help make any holster more comfortable.

I do feel like I owe you an answer to your original question, since I offered unsolicited advice.

Kramer Sheepskin IWB is the most comfortable IWB available. It's a soft holster so you do need to remove it to safely re holster, but considering the low chance of that happening outside the range it works.

The OP was looking for an IWB holster and not a duty holster i believe.

That's an awful large handgun/light combo to try to carry IWB or AIWB, especially for a big guy! I have enough issues with my Shield Plus 9mm AIWB in a Crossbreed holster with a Clinger Cushion (to properly position the holster). Good luck!

Neptune Concealment has the Theseus 2.0, which is probably the most comfortable holster I own.

Besides those already mentioned (I can second JM Custom), try Werkz.com. He specializes in holsters with lights.
