Back several months ago, as a result of too much antibiotic, I came down with yeast infection. I am on the fourth round of Nystatin and Fluconazole and cannot get rid of the Thrush in my mouth. Anyone had it and if so what got you cleared up? PM's will be fine. Thanks for any help.

Could be that you need your MD to prescribe a different medicine or give you enough to use for a longer period than he has been giving it to you. Also if you wear dentures or bridgework, it must be disinfected daily with a product that will kill the thrush or yeast completely. Ask the pharmacist who fills your prescriptions to recommend a product like this, I'm not familiar with what's on the market now for dentures. There's also a possibility that anything that goes in your mouth like silverware and cups or glasses may need to be washed carefully in very hot water and dish detergent (or maybe even rinsed in the sink in a tub of bleach) to help fully disinfect their surfaces. If you have a trusted dentist you can ask about this also. Don't give up. Keep on speaking to your doctor and let him know that it's not going away. He can look into which other medications can be prescribed that may work better for you. Good luck and keep after your doctor to help you find a solution for this problem.

I forgot to say that he did prescribe some Clotrimazole Lozenge that you were to melt on your tongue. I did, once. In about two hours my mouth and lips started swelling and then I looked at the paper that came with them. Sure enough, one of the reactions to look out for.
